So here is the good news, Poppy started running to lose weight and and has lost over 65 lbs. He says “he isn’t going nowhere soon”. Well he is going to run 3 races to raise funds for the Dravet Syndrome Foundation. He will run a 5k OCR, 10k and half Marathon in three weekends in a row in September and I get to ride in the 10K. Even though the 10k is virtual, I don’t care it just fun going that fast (get the need for speed from my momma). We are asking everyone to please give as we are trying beat our record for last year of $200.00.
I graduated from high school this past May and it was awesome walking for my diploma. So what do I do now with my days? I go to special class (transition) to develop life / work skills since I will not be going to college. Lucky for me this is at the same building I went to school so I get to see al my friends from the past 5 years. On Wednesday August 13 was my first official day in Transition. Ip got to meet a whole new group of young adults like me. I can go here until the day I turn 22, but poppy is not sure if we will stay here that long. I was so excited when the bus pulled up, I could not get the smile off my face. Poppy brough all kinds of therapy equipment to my classroom. Get this he has me doing therapy for a least one hour per day in school then he picks me up 4 days a week for therapy after school. Seriously he is working my booty off. On the first day of school. I felt bad for mommy during our call. I was tired from all the excitement that I fell asleep while talking. ” I am sorry momma I was really trying to stay awake”.
My big sister AKA the boppy works for Disney as a server. Guess what Natascha gets free Disney World ticket and took poppy and me to Animal & Magic Kingdom. It was so cool. We rode It’s a small world, People Mover, Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and my new favorite Na’vi River Journey. We rode Na’vi River Journey twice and I just fell in love with all the colors and lights.
So if you read this far, I will ask once more please give. And if you really want to do something cool. Join Team Abigaile. It is because of the research provided by the Dravet Foundation I just went 4 weeks without a seizure. This is really a big deal for family like mine.
